Using a Speedy Moisture Tester, the moisture in the specimen reacts with calcium carbide reagent to produce acetylene gas in the pressure chamber. The pressure gauge on the tester is calibrated to provide a direct reading of the moisture percentage in the specimen.
This tester allows for efficient testing of specimens in the field, with test times as short as a few minutes. Each Speedy Moisture Tester comes complete with a balance, measuring spoon, cleaning cloth and brushes, calcium carbide reagent, and a polished oak carrying case.
